Please note: SatNavs will take you to Micklin Farm…we are 100metres east of this. If you are coming from Alton village, we are after Micklin Farm on the right, if coming from Denstone village we are before Micklin Farm on the left.
Check in / Check out
Your cottage will be available from 4.30pm on the day of arrival. Please call in at the house to pick up your Key. Please vacate your cottage by 10.30am on the day of departure and hand your key into the house before leaving.
Late Arrivals
We are happy to accommodate late arrivals but please phone and let us know if you will be arriving after 9.00pm.
Equipment
All cottages are equipped with cooking utensils and necessary equipment. All bedding, sheets and towelling is provided and beds made up for your arrival. Washing up liquid, tea towel, salt and pepper is also provided. A TV and DVD player is also available
Pets
We do not accept pets in any of our cottages.
Safety advice
Fire: If in the unlikely event you discover a fire GET OUT, STAY OUT AND CALL 999 AND TELL SOMEONE AT THE FARMHOUSE.
Each cottage kitchen is equipped with a fire blanket with instruction on the cover, only tackle a fire if you think you can do so without danger to yourself and others using the cottage.

Damage or breakages
Very occasionally damage or breakages do occur. Please notify us straight away so as we can replace the items. In order to ensure that other guests do not suffer through higher costs we always ensure that damages are paid for.

It is easy to find somewhere to eat and drink in Alton. All the local pubs cater for children.

Shops
The nearest shops are in Alton Village and are about ½ mile away.
In the village you will find:
Londis – newsagent, off licence, video hire, cash machine etc.
Post Office – newspapers etc
The nearest large petrol station is in Uttoxeter.
The nearest supermarkets are a small Morrisons and ASDA in Cheadle about 5 miles away. A larger Tesco and Lidl are in Uttoxeter about 7 miles away or Marks and Spencer Simply Food, Sainsbury, Waitrose and Co-Operative along with a variety of smaller shops in Ashbourne about 8 miles away.
A small supply of tea, coffee, sugar and milk is provided for you on arrival.
Taxis near Lower Micklin Farm
QCS Taxis are very local and very willing to come to Lower Micklin. They have a couple of larger vehicles as well as normal taxis.
